Sandbags at the Movies- Blog 20
Are you going to the movies today with your sandbag? Or are you going to the theater with your sandbag? Typically you're not going to the movies with a sandbag. Sandbags aren't really good popcorn eaters or soda drinkers. They aren't typically sitting in a seat with their feet sticking to the floor like the rest of us. Sandbags do go to the theater though.
Sandbags are ideal for securing rigging, set scenery, and props at the theater. Using a sandbag at the theater can support heavy lights on C-stands or expensive cameras on tripods. It would also be used to protect items through heavy foot traffic areas of your set. It is just a safe practice to have sandbags on site.
Not going to the movies with a sandbag might still be in your future. How does date night with the sandbag sound to you? I mean going to see a movie with something that will weigh you down and cost you money isn't so far off from a standard date night is it? Go ahead and enjoy the movies.
Maybe you guys can watch Dune. There is a lot of sand in that movie.
